# 100 UK Family Offices & Private-Market Allocators Investing Directly in Funds

Published and reviewed: 18 August 2026

This public-source research directory contains 100 unique UK organizations with evidence of direct private-market fund allocation, a current fund-selection mandate, or a documented fund-investment programme. It is not a claim that every organization is a family office: each record preserves its specific allocator type.

## Visible allocator mix

- 41 family offices, family-investment companies, discretionary wealth offices, and operator-LPs
- 26 endowments and foundations
- 16 institutional allocators, fund-of-funds managers, public investment organizations, and related private-market programmes
- 17 pension funds, LGPS pools, pension investment managers, and government-backed pension allocators

## Evidence tiers

- Tier 1 — 53 records. A current named professional is paired with a named primary-fund commitment, anchor or first-close ticket, fund seed or GP stake, or strong official portfolio disclosure.
- Tier 2 — 47 records. A current named professional is paired with an explicit direct fund-selection mandate or a qualifying fund allocation with one disclosed limitation, such as indirect implementation, conditional status, older-but-current portfolio evidence, or no public ticket amount.
- Tier 3 — 0 records. Materially uncertain watchlist leads were not included in the published 100.

## What “directly in funds” means

The directory includes primary fund commitments and other explicitly identified fund interests held or selected by the allocator. It separately labels co-investments, secondaries, GP stakes, fund seeding, delegated mandates, and fund-of-funds exposure. Direct company investments alone do not qualify. A Fund I commitment does not by itself prove first-check or anchor status, and an anchor label is used only when a public source supports it.

## Research and inclusion rules

Every record must have one unique organization, one named current professional, a public role source, and a separate public activity or mandate source. Sources include official allocator pages, annual reports, investment reports, manager-close announcements, statutory records, and reputable institutional reporting. The fixed research window is 18 August 2023 through 18 August 2026, while older portfolio evidence is retained only when the current mandate is independently supported and the limitation is visible.

Of the 176 source URLs, 175 are official organizational, institutional, statutory, regulatory, or parliamentary sources. One Veddis role source is a clearly identified specialist secondary source. Some official sites restrict automated access even when the cited page remains publicly indexed.

Activity dates preserve the precision supported by the source: YYYY, YYYY-MM, or YYYY-MM-DD. A blank activity date means no discrete public event date was established. Where 2026-08-18 represents a current-page or as-of check rather than a transaction announcement, the evidence summary and caveat provide that context. Blank optional fields mean the fact was not publicly established, not zero or none; the reserved official_contact_url field is intentionally unpopulated for all records.

The evidence establishes organization-level activity. It does not establish that the named person personally originated, approved, signed, or can unilaterally authorize the cited commitment. Roles, mandates, pacing, fund preferences, and willingness to receive pitches can change; verify the primary sources before relying on a row.

## Privacy, corrections, and permitted use

Only public professional information is included. The files contain no private email addresses, personal phone numbers, residential addresses, inferred contact details, or inferred cheque sizes. This directory is research, not investment advice, solicitation, endorsement, or proof that an allocator is accepting pitches. Corrections should identify the record, the disputed field, and a current public source through the contact channel published on get-tau.com.
