Terms of service

Last updated 29 August 2026

What Tau AI does, how a subscription is billed and cancelled, what you may and may not do with the service, and what neither side promises.

Who these terms are between#

These terms of service are an agreement between you and Oria One Inc. In them, we, us and our mean that company, the operator of Tau AI, and you means the person or organisation that accepts them. The service means Tau AI, this website and everything we provide through them.

Oria One Inc. is incorporated in [TODO(legal): jurisdiction of incorporation] and its registered address is [TODO(legal): registered address].

By creating an account, starting a subscription, or otherwise using the service, you confirm that you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

If you accept these terms for a company, a team or another organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and you in these terms means that organisation.

What the service is#

Tau AI is a subscription service for growth and marketing work. It analyses the website you give it, together with information that is publicly available about your market and the companies you compete with, and from that it produces recommendations, plans, written content and outreach.

The work it covers includes:

  • A growth plan that sets out the opportunities it has found and the order it suggests working through them.
  • Search work, including technical fixes, page structure, and content written for publication.
  • Visibility work aimed at answer engines and AI assistants that cite sources.
  • Monitoring of public social conversations, and drafting posts and replies for them.
  • Finding creators who may be a fit for your product, and drafting the outreach to them.
  • Where you ask for it, support for paid acquisition.

Some of that work is produced for you to review, and some is carried out on your instruction through accounts and platforms you control. Anything that commits your money, or that is published or sent in your name, happens only after you have approved it.

The service is a tool. The decisions about your product, your marketing and your budget stay with you, and you are responsible for reviewing what the service produces before it is used.

This section describes what the service does. It is not a promise about what the service will achieve. Rankings, traffic, mentions in AI answers, coverage, sales and every other result depend on your product, your market, and on third parties that neither of us controls. The disclaimers below say this in full, and they are part of the agreement.

Accounts and eligibility#

You need an account to use the service. When you create one, you agree to give accurate information and to keep it up to date.

  • You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live. The service is intended for business use and is not directed at children.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential, and for everything that happens under your account.
  • Tell us as soon as you reasonably can if you believe someone else has gained access to your account.
  • If you share access with other people, or invite them into your account, their use counts as your use and you remain responsible for it.
  • You are responsible for the websites, accounts and platform permissions you connect to the service, and for having the right to connect them.

We may decline to open an account, and we may close one, in the circumstances set out in the suspension and termination section below.

Subscriptions, billing and renewal#

The service is sold as a subscription. The plan you select, what that plan includes, the amount payable, the currency, the length of the billing period, and any introductory or trial arrangement, are the ones shown to you at checkout when you subscribe. Those details form part of these terms, and where this section is more general than they are, they are the ones that apply.

  • Unless the checkout says otherwise, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, for a further period of the same length, at the rate then in effect for your plan, until it is cancelled.
  • You authorise us, and the payment provider we use, to charge your payment method for each period and for any taxes that apply to it.
  • Amounts are exclusive of taxes unless the checkout says otherwise, and you are responsible for any taxes due on your purchase.
  • You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may retry it, and we may limit or suspend access until the amount due has been settled.
  • We may change what a plan costs. A change takes effect from the start of a billing period beginning after we have told you about it, and you may cancel before it takes effect if you do not want to continue.
  • Money spent with third parties on your approval, such as media budget, placement fees or creator fees, is separate from your subscription. It is your cost, even where we arrange it for you.
No price, billing period or trial length appears in these terms on purpose. Those are commercial terms, they can differ between plans and over time, and the checkout is the source of truth for them. If what you were shown at checkout and what you were charged do not match, tell us and we will put it right.

Cancelling and what happens at the end of a term#

You can cancel your subscription at any time, from your account or by contacting us through the support page.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Unless we agree otherwise, or the law where you live says otherwise, it does not end the period you are already in: your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and the subscription then ends.

When a subscription ends:

  • Access to the paid parts of the service stops, and work that is scheduled but not yet carried out is not carried out.
  • Content that has already been published, whether on your own site or on a third party platform, stays where it is. Ending your subscription does not withdraw it, and does not cancel a commitment already made to a third party on your approval.
  • We may keep your content available for a period so that you can export it, but we do not undertake to keep it indefinitely. Export anything you want to keep before you cancel.
  • Amounts already due remain payable.

Refunds#

Unless the checkout terms for your plan say otherwise, or the law where you live gives you a right to a refund, payments are not refundable, and cancelling part way through a billing period does not create a refund for the unused part of it.

If you have a statutory right to cancel or to withdraw from the purchase, that right applies and nothing in these terms limits it.

Two places in these terms do provide for a refund, and this section does not override them. If we stop offering the service, or end your subscription for our own reasons, we refund the part of the period you have paid for and have not been able to use. The same applies if we materially reduce what your plan provides during a period you have already paid for and you cancel because of it.

We may also offer a refund or a credit where something has clearly gone wrong on our side. Doing so once does not oblige us to do it again, and does not change the rest of this section.

If you believe you are owed a refund, contact us through the support page and tell us what happened and when.

Acceptable use#

You may use the service for your own product or business, or for one you are authorised to represent. You agree not to use it for any of the following.

  • Anything unlawful, or anything that infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of someone else.
  • Content that is deceptive, that makes claims about a product which cannot be supported, or that is defamatory, harassing, hateful or obscene.
  • Unsolicited bulk messaging, or outreach that breaks the rules of the platform it is sent through or the law that applies to it.
  • Impersonating another person or business, or misrepresenting who you are or who you act for.
  • Techniques intended to manipulate a search engine, an answer engine, a social platform or a creator network in breach of the rules of that platform.
  • Connecting a website, account or brand that you do not own and are not authorised to work on.
  • Copying, reselling, sublicensing or white labelling the service, or making it available to anyone outside your account, unless we have agreed to it in writing.
  • Reverse engineering the service, extracting the prompts, models or workflows behind it, scraping it, or using its output to build or train a competing product.
  • Interfering with the operation or the security of the service, or trying to reach parts of it that are not meant for you.
  • Uploading malware, or anything designed to damage or disrupt a system.

You are responsible for what is published or sent in your name. Before something goes out, it is for you to check that it is accurate, that you are entitled to make the claims in it, and that it complies with the rules of the platform it is going to and with the advertising and marketing law that applies to you.

Breaking this section is the most likely reason for an account to be suspended or closed. The suspension and termination section below sets out how that works.

Your content and your data#

Your content means everything you give us or connect to the service: your website and what is on it, your brand and product material, files you upload, access you grant to third party accounts, and the instructions and approvals you give.

You keep ownership of your content. So that we can run the service, you grant us a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free licence to host, store, copy, process, adapt, translate and display your content, and to pass it to the third parties needed for the work you have asked for, for the purpose of providing, supporting and securing the service for you. The licence lasts only as long as we need it for that purpose, except where a copy remains in a routine backup or where the law requires us to keep it.

Where you ask the service to publish, post or send something on your behalf, that licence extends to whatever is needed to do it, and to the platform it is going to.

You confirm that you hold the rights needed to give us your content, and that our use of it as described here will not infringe the rights of anyone else.

We may use information about how the service is used, in an aggregated form that does not identify you, your business or your customers, to operate and improve the service. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may act on them without owing you anything for them.

Personal data is dealt with in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. If you intend to put personal data about your own customers or users into the service, contact us before you do, so that the right arrangements can be put in place first.

Intellectual property#

We own the service, or we hold it under licence from others. That includes the software, the interfaces, the models, prompts and workflows behind it, the templates, the designs, the documentation, and the name and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.

For as long as your subscription is active and you are complying with these terms, we grant you a limited, non exclusive, non transferable right to use the service for your own business.

Deliverables means the material the service produces for you: plans, reports, articles, pages, drafts, outreach messages and the like. As between you and us, and once the fees for the period in which they were produced have been paid, the deliverables are yours. We assign to you whatever rights we hold in them or, where an assignment is not possible, we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty free licence to use them.

The tools, templates, models and know how used to produce the deliverables remain ours, and we may go on using them for other customers. You may not use our name or branding except as we allow in writing.

Two things about the deliverables that we cannot honestly leave out. They are produced in part by automated systems, so we cannot promise that any deliverable is original, that similar material has not been produced for someone else, or that it attracts copyright protection at all. And nothing is checked for accuracy on your behalf: read a deliverable before you publish it.

Third party services and platforms#

The service works with, and depends on, services that we do not own or control. They include search engines, answer engines and other AI assistants, social platforms, publishers and content networks, creator platforms, advertising platforms, analytics providers, payment providers, and any account or website you connect.

  • What those platforms allow, how they rank or display things, what they charge, and what access they give, can change at any time. They can restrict, remove or refuse content, and suspend accounts, for their own reasons.
  • Your use of them is governed by their own terms. It is your responsibility to comply with those terms and to hold the accounts and permissions the work needs.
  • Where you authorise the service to act through an account of yours, you confirm that the platform permits it.
  • Amounts payable to a third party, such as media spend, placement fees or creator fees, are yours to pay. They are incurred only after you have approved them, and they may be charged to you by that third party directly.
  • We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, pricing or availability of any third party, and a change made by one of them may change or interrupt what the service is able to do.

Disclaimers#

The service is provided as it is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations that are not expressly set out in these terms, including any implied warranty of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or non infringement.

We do not guarantee any outcome. In particular, we do not promise:

  • Any position, ranking or placement in any search engine.
  • Any mention, citation or recommendation by any AI assistant, answer engine or generative engine.
  • Any level of traffic, impressions, followers, engagement, leads, sales, revenue or press coverage.
  • That any creator, publisher, platform or journalist will agree to work with you, or will accept what is sent to them.
  • That the service will be available without interruption or error, that defects will be corrected, or that a particular piece of work will be finished within a particular time.
  • That the material the service produces will be accurate, complete, current or suitable for your purpose.

The service produces its output in part with automated and AI systems. Output of that kind can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, and it needs your review before it is relied on, published or sent. Nothing the service produces is legal, tax, financial, medical or other professional advice.

Some of the exclusions in this section may not apply to you. If the law where you live gives you rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded, those rights stand, and nothing here affects them.

Limitation of liability#

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any other liability that the applicable law does not allow to be limited.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss.
  • We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill, anticipated savings, reputation or data, or for the cost of obtaining substitute services, whether the claim is in contract, in tort, under statute or otherwise, and whether or not the loss was foreseeable or we had been told it was possible.
  • We are not liable for loss caused by a third party platform, by a change one of them makes, or by material that you approved, published or sent.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service and with these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Your responsibility for third party claims#

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover us against claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs brought by a third party and arising out of your content, out of what you publish or send using the service, out of your breach of these terms, or out of your breach of the rules of a platform or of the law that applies to you.

This does not apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own breach of these terms, and where the law where you live limits an obligation of this kind for consumers, that limit applies.

Suspension and termination#

You may stop using the service at any time, and you may cancel your subscription as described above.

We may suspend, restrict or end your access, in whole or in part, if:

  • you breach these terms, and in particular the acceptable use section;
  • an amount you owe is overdue, or a payment is reversed;
  • we reasonably believe that your use is unlawful or fraudulent, or that it puts other customers, a third party platform, or the service itself at risk;
  • a third party we depend on requires it; or
  • we need to for a legal, regulatory or security reason.

Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we will tell you first and, if the problem can be put right, give you an opportunity to put it right. Where the reason is urgent, we may act first and tell you afterwards.

We may also stop offering the service, or end your subscription for our own reasons, by giving you reasonable notice. If we do that, we will refund the part of any period you have paid for and have not been able to use.

When the agreement ends, your right to use the service stops. The sections that are by their nature meant to outlast it, including those on your content, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, your responsibility for third party claims, and governing law, continue to apply.

Changes to the service and to these terms#

The service is developed continuously. Features may be added, changed or removed, and what can be done on a particular channel or platform may change or stop, for example where that platform changes its rules or its access. We will not deliberately remove the core of what your plan provides during a period you have already paid for. If we do materially reduce it, you may cancel, and we will refund the unused part of that period.

We may change these terms, for example to reflect a change in the service, in our business, or in the law. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.

Where a change is material, we will give you notice before it takes effect, by email or in the service. If you continue to use the service after the change takes effect, you accept it. If you would rather not, cancel before then.

Governing law and disputes#

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of the service, are governed by the law of [TODO(legal): governing law], without regard to its conflict of law rules.

The courts of [TODO(legal): courts with exclusive jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any right you have to bring proceedings in the country where you live, or to rely on the consumer protection law there.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and set out the problem. Most things can be settled that way, and we will try to settle it that way.

The two gaps above are the most important ones in this document. They are left visible on purpose. The company is incorporated somewhere specific, and picking a jurisdiction to make the page look finished would be worse than leaving the blank where everyone can see it.

General#

  • These terms, the details shown at checkout for your plan, and the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service, and they replace anything said before them.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a company in our group, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of our business, provided your rights are not reduced.
  • If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of them continue to apply.
  • If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not lose it.
  • Nothing here makes either of us the partner, employer or agent of the other, apart from the limited authority you give the service to act for you on the platforms you connect.
  • Neither of us is liable for a failure to perform that is caused by something outside our reasonable control.
  • We may send you notices about the service or about these terms by email to the address on your account, or by posting them in the service or on this page.
