21 Claude fundraising skills: find the VCs that will actually write your cheque

A free, installable pack for running a venture raise with evidence: qualify the fund, verify its behavior, find the right partner, and carry the process through diligence and close.

An investor list is not an investor strategy

A sector keyword on a fund website is discovery evidence, not fit. The partner may have moved. The active vehicle may write larger cheques. A recent deal may have changed the conflict picture. The useful question is not who appears on the list; it is which funds have a current, evidenced reason to consider this round.

This pack turns that question into twenty-one reusable Claude-compatible skills. They define the round, audit the story, build and verify a fund universe, map the right partner and warm path, prepare outreach and meetings, and keep diligence and closing under control. The coordinator, fundraise-run, chains the other twenty.

The qualification standard

Every fund starts unqualified. It moves forward only when the round and the public evidence align—or when a material unknown is stated clearly enough to resolve.

Mandate
The current vehicle, stage, sector, geography and lead or follow behavior—not an undated marketing label.
Cheque
An explicit range or observed first-cheque evidence. Fund size and total round size are not substitutes.
Behavior
Dated new investments inside a stated review window, separated from follow-ons and older vehicles.
Portfolio
Direct and adjacent overlap, with fund-level exposure separated from a partner's active board relationship.
Partner
Current role plus relevant deals, portfolio attribution or authored thesis—not seniority alone.
Route
A real, permissioned introduction path or an honest cold route. Shared connections do not become introductions by assertion.

Facts

Every material investor claim keeps its URL, source date, access date and limitation.

Inferences

Reasoned conclusions are labeled and explain which facts support them.

Unknowns

Missing cheque, partner or vehicle evidence becomes a question, never a confident guess.

The target is quality, not list length

A forty-fund qualified list can be more useful than two hundred names. The pack does not promise that any fund will invest or that public evidence captures a private firm's complete activity.

How the pack runs a raise

The workflow is deliberately sequential where evidence depends on an earlier decision, and parallel where research can move independently.

  • Freeze the round brief and screening contract before ranking investors.
  • Build a broad discovery universe, then verify mandate, cheque, behavior, conflicts and partner ownership in parallel.
  • Reject weak fits and carry material unknowns into partner questions instead of hiding them inside a score.
  • Sequence qualified funds into learning waves; prepare a source-backed brief for every meeting.
  • Run one weekly pipeline review and keep diligence requests, terms and close dependencies tied to owners and dates.

The skills distinguish sourced facts, founder inputs, inferences and unknowns. That distinction is what keeps a polished spreadsheet from becoming false confidence.

Install and use the pack

The ZIP contains a skills directory with twenty-one folders. Copy those folders into .claude/skills/ for one Claude Code project or~/.claude/skills/ for personal use. For Claude on the web, use the individual ZIP downloads below.

Start a Claude conversation, then ask it to use fundraise-run with the company brief, round target, current metrics, investor list, relationship map and timing. You can also invoke any specialist directly, such asportfolio-conflict-check or term-sheet-comparator.

What the coordinator needs

Give it the current round—not the aspirational version: amount, instrument, target close, use of funds, milestone, traction definitions, runway, target markets, investor exclusions, existing conversations and data-room status. It will label missing information instead of inventing it.

Where the skills stop

Independent and unaffiliated. The methods, prompts and checklists on this page are built on publicly documented approaches. They are not created by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any product, platform or company whose name appears here, and Tau AI has no relationship with those companies beyond using their published guidance.

  • They research and draft; they do not contact investors or update a live CRM without explicit authorization.
  • They use public professional information and authorized relationship data; they do not infer private emails, phone numbers or signing authority.
  • They compare financing terms but do not provide legal, tax, accounting or investment advice.
  • They never upgrade interested to committed, or committed to signed, without direct recorded evidence.
  • They do not claim that fund size reveals first-cheque size or that portfolio overlap proves a legal conflict.

Sources and provenance

The research standard starts with official fund and portfolio-company pages, then uses public registers and filings to corroborate entities and disclosures. Every volatile fact carries an access date and should be rechecked before outreach.

The source LinkedIn post was published by Paul Chartier on September 5, 2026. Its core proposition—less investor scraping, more fundraising intelligence—determined the pack's qualification workflow. The twenty-one skill files were written for this download and validated against the open Agent Skills folder format.
