VC Contact Book

A source-linked starter book of public VC firm and team pages, plus Claude skills and templates to build a qualified investor list.

A working resource for your next decision

A contact book is useful only if it gives you a credible next step. This download starts with public firm and team pages, then gives you a repeatable way to verify which organisation, partner and route actually match your raise. It is a research starting point, not a database of private email addresses.

The starter CSV contains eight firms with source pages checked for this release. It deliberately leaves round fit, cheque size and individual contacts unfilled until you research them for your company. A blank field is more useful than a guessed email or an unsupported claim that an investor is active in your market.

Alongside the CSV are two Claude skills: one builds an evidence-backed contact book and the other prepares a qualified outreach brief. The complete fundraising pack is linked below if you also need round definition, meeting preparation, diligence and closing workflows.

How to use the pack

Step 1

Write an investor-fit brief before adding firms: stage, sector, geography, round size, preferred cheque and the evidence you need. A long list built without a screen creates research work rather than investor access.

Step 2

Use the starter pages to find current team biographies and relevant portfolio activity. Record URLs and access dates. Recheck a role on the official site before using it in a draft; an old article can remain online long after a person changes firms.

Step 3

Add a public professional contact route only when the source actually publishes it. A team page is a discovery route, not permission to email a guessed address. Keep authorized warm introductions separate from public contact channels.

Step 4

Qualify a smaller working list and prepare one specific fit reason for each candidate. Track unresolved questions and the next verification action. Draft outreach only after that review, and send it only under your own authorization.

What each skill does

Start with the skill that matches the immediate job. Every skill includes its own working templates, so you can use it independently without installing the whole collection.

1

VC contact research

vc-contact-research

Use when: a founder needs a traceable investor list with current public professional routes

Output: A deduplicated contact book with sources, fit evidence and unresolved questions

2

Investor outreach brief

investor-outreach-brief

Use when: a qualified VC candidate needs a concise evidence-based outreach draft

Output: A fit brief, a permissioned introduction option and an unsent message draft

Bring evidence, then ask a specific question

  • A round brief with sector, stage, geography and target cheque
  • Existing investor list or the included public-source starter CSV
  • Any relationship information you are authorized to use

The quality of the result depends on the inputs. Keep confidential or personal information out unless it is needed and you have permission to use it. If you only have a short brief, start there and let missing evidence remain visible.

A first request to try

Use vc-contact-research with this round brief and the starter CSV. Build a qualified shortlist, keeping sources and dates for every fit claim. Leave undisclosed cheque sizes and contact details unknown. Prepare outreach briefs for the best-supported candidates without sending messages.

After the first run, check the output against the underlying files. Correct misunderstood definitions and assumptions, then ask for a revision. Save the evidence ledger with the result so that someone else can inspect the reasoning later.

Sources and scope

Independent and unaffiliated. The methods, prompts and checklists on this page are built on publicly documented approaches. They are not created by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any product, platform or company whose name appears here, and Tau AI has no relationship with those companies beyond using their published guidance.

  • The starter contains public firm and team pages, not private emails, guaranteed introductions or verified investor appetite.
  • The firms are research examples, not ranked recommendations. Their current mandate and the relevant partner must be checked for your specific round.

Source pages and installation guidance were reviewed for this release. Facts about firms, products and financing can change; each research run should preserve its own access dates and recheck the evidence needed for its decision.
